Compassionate Neighbours

We understand that people impacted by death, dying and loss often suffer a social death causing social isolation and loneliness.
 

By ensuring that people living with an advanced illness and frailty remain connected to people in the places where they normally live, work, play and pray, they are included and can contribute to their communities.
 

The same social death applies to informal carers and people living with bereavement.

Lost connection with normal routines, paid work, inability to leave the home coupled with people’s uncomfortableness and lack of confidence to offer support, leave people suffering alone.

Small acts of kindness and compassion can make the biggest difference. 
 

To understand our responsibility in supporting those who are suffering can change the lives of the dying and those they leave behind.
 

The Compassionate Neighbour Workshop provides people with information and guidance on offering social, emotional and practical support that enables people to live in their communities up to and including the end of their lives.
